The Donggang Waste-to-Energy PPP Project is situated in the Wangjiagang Reservoir, southeast of Majiadian Town, Donggang City, Liaoning Province. It undertakes the harmless, reduction, and resource-based treatment of municipal solid waste throughout Donggang City. The project plays a pivotal role in the comprehensive treatment of municipal solid waste in the region. With a daily processing capacity of 500 tons, this project commenced construction on February 24, 2021 and was successfully connected to the grid for power generation on July 6, 2022.

As of February 2023, the Donggang project has processed a cumulative total of 12,000 tons of municipal solid waste, generating an impressive 2687 kWh of electricity fed into the grid. Moreover, the project has welcomed over 500 visitors for tours and visits.

Project Highlight

1. "Golden Dahlia Flower" Design Design

The main building facade of the Donggang project showcases a striking architectural composition blending different volumes and materials to create a dynamic visual impact. The incorporation of the "Golden Dahlia Flower" shape adds a touch of liveliness and elegance to the structure. Through variations in light and shadow, the facade transforms with the progression of the day, offering an ever-changing aesthetic experience.

2. Stringent Emission Standards

The project implements a comprehensive flue gas purification process encompassing SNCR (Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction), semi-dry method, and dry method, along with activated carbon injection absorption, and bag filtration. The emissions of flue gas are superior to both national (GB18485-2014) and EU (2010/75/EU) standards.

3. Zero Discharge of Leachate Wastewater

The treatment process applied to waste leachate and industrial wastewater effectively enables their reusability, thereby achieving a zero-discharge outcome.

4. Open Neighborhood Community Co-Construction:

The project regularly opens its doors to the public offering access to a dedicated science exhibition hall. Through interactive display and educational material the project fosters environmental awareness and community involvement, nurturing a sense of shared responsibility for a green and sustainable community.
