The Nanfeng Waste-to-Energy Project is situated adjacent to the 206 National Road in Aiyuan Village, Qincheng Town, Nanfeng County. It serves as a pivotal facility for the harmless, reduction, and resource-based treatment of household waste from Nanfeng, Nancheng, Lichuan, and Guangchang counties. With a daily capacity to process 600 tons of household waste, the project commenced construction on August 31, 2020, and was seamlessly integrated into the power grid for electricity generation on November 20, 2021.

Recognized as a key initiative and essential aspect of livelihood improvement in Fuzhou City, the Nanfeng Waste-to-Energy PPP Project has garnered significant attention and scrutiny from Fuzhou Municipal Party Committee and Government since its inception.

Project Highlight

1. Hive-Inspired "Deindustrialization" Design

Incorporating the innovative "deindustrialization" design philosophy, the project draws inspiration from the intricate structure of beehives. Collaborating with China Nuclear Engineering Group Co., Ltd. for overall conceptualization and exterior design, the project symbolizes the efficiency of sanitation vehicles in collecting and transporting household waste. This concept mirrors the industriousness of bees gathering pollen, returning to the hive, producing honey, and sharing resources.

2. Advanced Mechanical Grate

The project utilizes the reciprocating grate furnace developed independently by SUS Environment (Headquarters), ensuring durability against high temperatures and corrosion, resulting in an extended service life and minimal maintenance requirements.

3. Stable and Efficient Operation

Operating continuously 365 days a year, the plant efficiently processes 219,000 tons of household waste annually, generating 82.19 million kWh of electricity. This electricity is seamlessly integrated into the national grid through an on-site booster station, leading to an annual saving of 12,000 tons of standard coal.

4. Ultra-High Flue Gas Emission Standards

Employing cutting-edge domestic flue gas purification technology, the project adheres rigorously to the national "Pollution Control Standard for Waste-to-Energy" (GB18485-2014), with certain emission indicators exceeding EU standards (2010/75/EU).

5. Open and Shared Facilities for Harmonious Neighborhoods

Constructing an environmentally friendly education facility spanning over 1200 square meters from the first to the seventh floor, the project welcomes public, fostering a sense of community engagement and mutual benefits. Through ongoing environmental education initiatives tailored for children, the project actively contributes to the creation of a green and sustainable community.
