The Guangshui Waste-to-Energy Project is situated at No.1, Ganglingwan, Qianhuchong Village, Shili Street, within Guangshui City, Hubei Province. It is entrusted with the task of achieving harmless, reduction, and resource-based treatment of municipal solid waste in Guangshui City. Processing a daily waste treatment capacity of 600 tons, construction of the project commenced in June 2018 and operations commenced in January 2020.
Distinguished as the first PPP project in Guangshui City, it caters to a population of 930,000 people, with the capacity to accommodate the projected needs of 1 million outlined in 2030 development plan. The project effectively addresses the challenge of municipal solid waste treatment in both urban and rural areas of Guangshui City, achieving the objectives of harmless treatment and resource utilization of municipal solid waste. Furthermore, it plays a significant role in enhancing the regional ecological environment and enhances the quality of urban living standards.
1. Iconic Deindustrialization Design
The project's exterior facade is conceptualized in the guise of a honeycomb-shaped curtain wall drawing inspiration from the waste collection and transportation system of SUS. Analogous to industrious bees gathering raw materials to the hive, numerous waste collection trucks traverse the city on a daily basis transporting household waste back to the waste-to-energy plant. Embodied within a transparent lofty space and set against interplays of light and shadow this design cultivates a landmark aesthetic for the contemporary waste-to-energy plant, seamlessly combining industrial functionality with artistic sensibilities
2. Cutting-Edge Incineration Technology
Utilizing the foremost Swiss VonRoll-Hitachi Zosen mechanical grate incineration technology domestically, the project is equipped with medium-temperature and sub-high-pressure natural circulation single-drum waste heat boilers. These innovations are specifically tailored for processing complex, high-moisture, and low-calorific-value municipal solid waste.
3. Stringent Emission Standards
The project adopts advanced domestic flue gas purification technology, ensuring compliance with national smoke emission standards (GB18485-2014).
4. Fostering a Collaborative Community Environment
The project area offers complimentary fitness and sports facilities for residents of neighboring communities, serving as a catalyst for community engagement and cohesion. Additionally, it serves as a prominent platform for pivotal party-building initiatives and educational activities. Within the project premises, an environmental exhibition hall is established to actively promote comprehensive environmental education and waste classification publicity activities, functioning as an environmental education social practice base.
